Avenue Army
Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN | San Diego, CA
Genres: Punk / Rock / Alternative
Avenue Army began in 2009 among friends who shared a lifelong passion for writing and performing music. Originally from Minneapolis/Saint Paul, MN, the band quickly formulated their own unique sound that has been described as "Power Pop with huge balls", and began paying the Minnesota and Midwest Scene heavily between 2010 and 2013.
In Fall of 2013, Avenue Army released their debut album "Words With Action" and followed the release with several short Midwest tours and a national tour supporting 3 Pill Morning in the South and Southwest region of the U.S.
The band relocated to San Diego, California in 2016 and has since changed its entire lineup with the exception of founding member Max Bergstrom, who is the band's lead singer and rhythm guitarist. Bergstrom is joined with a solid hard hitting lineup including a shredding stage frontline of multiinstrumentalist Drew Smith on bass and backing vocals, alongside Will Lopez, a virtuoso on the lead guitar. Avenue Army is currently touring, supporting, and performing tracks from their latest album releases, including an EP titled The Holding Steady EP which was previously released on Cleopatra Records in October of 2019, and also performing in support of the new singles and standards from the upcoming EP, Joy Fighter, set to be released through Rdub Recordings in 2022. The band has been continually grinding in the recording studio working on Joy Fighter with Adam Sisco of Sisco Recordings at the helm, as their new singles, “Bedroom Window” and “Company Killer” already released on all platforms and outlets for radio rotation and playlist consumption. Avenue Army continues to build a strong following and keeps fans coming back for more with their solid live show performance. They have opened and toured with bands such as 3 Pill Morning, Eve to Adam, Saving Abel, Alien Ant Farm, The Ataris, Trapt, RIVALS, and many many more.
